California
The Carneros Inn completed a renovation and rebranded as Carneros Resort and Spa. The project included a new events venue, a refresh of the pool and a newly built guest reception area relocated near the on-site restaurant FARM. The 28-acre resort’s 86 cottages and 10 suites are in the midst of upgrades. The property offers more than 14,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, including the new 3,000-seat outdoor venue The Arbor.

The brand transition of Hyatt Regency Los Angeles International Airport hotel is complete. Formerly The Concourse Hotel at Los Angeles International Airport, the 580-room hotel is undergoing an extensive $75 million renovation slated for completion in January. The property is currently open and offers 50,000 square feet of conference center space, including a 14,000-square-foot ballroom. There are also two event lawns totaling 12,000 square feet that can accommodate up to 750 guests. Two new food and beverage outlets will debut with the renovation as well as a redesigned lobby.

The 379-room Portola Hotel & Spa, which completed renovations on its guest room bathrooms as well as its lobby and meeting space bathrooms earlier this year, is undergoing a full lobby renovation scheduled to be complete in late spring 2017. The project will include upgrades to the guest entrance and front desk, new furnishings, carpet and artwork, and the addition of a small library. Jacks Lounge, the bar off the lobby, will be closed for four months and relocated inside Jacks Restaurant while it undergoes a transformation to double the size of the bar and extend restaurant seating into the lobby area. The hotel offers more than 50,000 square feet of indoor meeting space as well as nearly 60,000 square feet of outdoor space. The adjacent Monterey Conference Center is also undergoing a $60 million renovation of its 40,000 square feet of space and will be LEED certified when completed.

Nevada
The Siena Hotel Reno is undergoing a transformation and will open as the Renaissance Reno Downtown Hotel in early 2017. All 214 guest rooms will be upgraded, along with renovations to its meeting rooms, restaurant, bar and public areas. Siena will be downtown Reno’s first non-gaming, non-smoking, full-service hotel. The property features more than 32,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 6,200-square-foot ballroom with floor-to-ceiling windows. The hotel will debut Bundox Bocce, a space for up to 1,500 people with seven indoor bocce ball courts and two outdoor spaces, as well as two private rooms and an outdoor grass area. In addition, there will be 10 lanes of skee ball, two shuffleboard courts and projection walls that can be customized for private events.

Mexico
NH Hotel Group launched its NH Collection brand in North America with the opening of NH Collection Mexico City Reforma. The property is located in the city’s financial and tourist district and was recently refurbished and rebranded. The 306-room hotel offers Obvio restaurant, which blends Mexican cuisine with international flavors, as well as Bar 155 for cocktails and fresh fruit and vegetable juices. There are 10 meeting and event rooms, which total about 9,500 square feet. The largest space can accommodate up to 300 guests. The hotel also has an outdoor pool and terrace that can also be used for events.

Western Canada
Calgary Airport Marriott In-Terminal Hotel debuted at the Calgary International Airport between the existing domestic terminal and the new International Terminal. The hotel features 318 guest rooms, many with views of the Calgary skyline and the Canadian Rocky Mountains. There is more than 18,350 square feet of meeting space, including the 5,900-square-foot Chinook Ballroom that can accommodate over 600 guests in its 10 meeting rooms.
