Funky in Phoenix

FOUND:RE Phoenix made its desert debut, showcasing local contemporary art, culture, fashion and music. Mike Oleskow, the hotel’s cultural curator, sourced more than 25 Arizona artists for a rotating art show and programming such as musical performances and live poetry.

“FOUND:RE Phoenix truly unites our local artists with the global community,” said Oleskow. “Not only are their works featured throughout the hotel, but guests can actually purchase the works, take them home, and keep the very best of Arizona with them forever. We can even arrange to take our guests on private tours of the artists’ studios and workspaces.”

In addition to filling the Studio and the Gallery spaces with rotating shows, pop-ups and instillations throughout the year, groups can use these spaces for their own meetings and events. With over 8,000 square feet of meeting space property-wide, including an outdoor pool deck, the 2,300-square-foot Gallery and adjoining patio can accommodate up to 200 guests and smaller groups can use the Studio.

Even the on-site restaurant, Match Cuisine & Cocktails, acts as an extension of the property’s mission to connect to the local community. Led by Executive Chef Akos Szabo and serving “glocal” (global street food using local ingredients) cuisine, the restaurant is delivering its compost back to the farmers and purveyors where the ingredients were originally sourced.

“Our goal is to create a place of community and invoke a sense of wonder for every guest at FOUND:RE Phoenix,” said Vittal Calamur, general manager. “We want people to feel inspired, connected and engaged on a visceral level. We want every experience here to be an opportunity for our guests to discover and learn something new—we want you to find yourself.”
