Atascadero
The Holiday Inn Express & Suites Atascadero added 1,400 square feet of new meeting space, bringing its total to 3,000 square feet. The property also opened a new restaurant serving California cuisine.
Pismo Beach
The Inn at the Pier is set to open in 2017. The Craftsman-style hotel will be located downtown and feature 104 rooms, a rooftop bar and a full-service restaurant with ocean views, 1,500-square-feet of meeting space, and a pool and fitness center.
Santa Barbara
The Rosewood Miramar Beach Montecito is scheduled to open in 2018 on a 16-acre beachfront site in the upscale enclave of Montecito. The luxury property will feature 122 guest rooms and 48 suites, many of them in single-story cottages and bungalows. Amenities will include 12,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, plus a signature restaurant, full-service spa, beach club and screening room.
The Santa Barbara Inn reopened after a multiyear renovation. The 70-room property features a new banquet room and conference center accommodating up to 80 guests as well as a new fitness center, pool and restaurant serving Italian fare.
Over $20 million in upgrades have been completed at Bacara Resort & Spa, including a guest room refurbishment and the addition of a new wine-tasting room and coffee bar. The resort also opened Angel Oak, an oceanview restaurant specializing in steaks and seafood.
Benchmark Hospitality International added the Spanish Garden Inn to its Personal Luxury Resorts & Hotel brand collection. Catering to corporate retreats, the 24-room hotel offers a boardroom, function rooms, a fitness center, a pool and in-room spa treatments.
San Luis Obispo
Alaska Airlines plans to launch daily roundtrip service between Seattle and San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport April 13, 2017. The year-round service will be operated by SkyWest using Embraer E175 aircraft.
The Embassy Suites by Hilton San Luis Obispo is slated to complete a major renovation of all of its guest units and public spaces by March 2017.
The Courtyard by Marriott San Luis Obispo completed a renovation of its 139 guest rooms, lobby and fitness center. The hotel also opened The Bistro, a restaurant serving breakfast and dinner.
Ventura
The Crowne Plaza Ventura Beach will wrap up a property-wide renovation early next year that includes all guest rooms and its Top of the Harbor Grand Ballroom, a venue with water views that accommodates up to 350 people.
Approvals have been granted for the development of a Hyatt House hotel to replace the shuttered Casa Sirena Hotel at Channel Islands Harbor. The waterfront hotel will feature meeting space and is expected to open in 2018.
