Happy New Year! Not only has the calendar changed, but we’ve had a change on the Content portion of our masthead (that thingy up and to the right, with all the names and fancy titles).
Please join me in welcoming Jennifer Juergens as our new contributing content developer, Florida and Caribbean! Jennifer brings a wealth of Florida and Caribbean travel trade experience to the party, having most recently held the position of manager of convention communication for Visit Orlando, truly one of the top CVBs in the nation, and was the editor-in-chief of Incentive magazine before that.
She’ll be handling our Florida and Caribbean destination sections as well as our annual Meetings Today Florida supplement, in addition to representing Meetings Today at various Florida and Caribbean travel trade events. She’s one of the most professional people I’ve worked with in my many years in the travel trade industry, so I’m very excited to welcome her to the fold.

And speaking of new, our cover story was a study in deadline-driven journalism, as the merger of Lanyon Solutions with Cvent roiled the meetings industry tech waters at the end of November, right as we entered production on this issue.
The “solution,” so to speak, was to hop on a plane and fly to Cvent’s Tysons Corner, Va., headquarters to talk with its founder and CEO, Reggie Aggarwal, to get the skinny. Turn to page 16 to discover what’s up at Cvent and what to expect in this meetings industry tech segment in the near future.
