ARIZONA

Phoenix

FOUND: RE Phoenix opened in downtown Phoenix in October. The 105-room art-themed boutique hotel features a collection of contemporary art throughout the property, a restaurant serving cuisine inspired by global street food and several event spaces, including a rooftop pool deck.

The former Ritz-Carlton Phoenix reopened as The Camby Hotel following a major renovation. The 277-room resort property, which is part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection, offers four restaurants, a full-service spa and 23,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space.

The Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs completed a renovation that included the redesign of 544 guest suites.

Scottsdale
Andaz Scottsdale Resort opened in November with 201 bungalow-style guest rooms, a full-service spa and over 20,000 square feet of meeting space.

The former Marriott Mountain Shadows Resort is scheduled to reopen in February as Mountain Shadows. The completely rebuilt property will feature 183 guest rooms, restaurants and 12,500 square feet of indoor meeting space and 25,000 square feet of outdoor event space. The project also includes the redesign of the adjacent Mountain Shadows Golf Club.

The Ritz-Carlton Paradise Valley is under construction and expected to open by the end of 2018. The 200-room property will offer such amenities as the longest pool in North America, a garden with a citrus orchard and a 20,000-square-foot spa with indoor and outdoor treatment areas.

The Saguaro Scottsdale, a 194-room hotel in Old Town, debuted the Agave Complex, which offers 7,649 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space that includes wraparound terraces, fireplaces and a fire pit. The hotel also completed a guest-room renovation.

Sedona
At press time, a six-story addition to the Cliff Castle Casino & Hotel was scheduled for completion by the end of 2016. The expansion includes 122 guest rooms and multipurpose conference rooms.

Tempe
The AC Hotel Phoenix Tempe/Downtown opened at Hayden Ferry Lakeside, a mixed-use retail, restaurant and office complex. The hotel features 1,000 square feet of meeting space and a rooftop pool deck and a fitness facility.

Tucson
Construction is under way on the 136-room (AC Hotel Tucson by Marriott and is scheduled for completion in summer 2017. The LEED-certified property will include a rooftop pool and bar and 1,500 square feet of conference space.

American Airlines started nonstop daily service between New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport and Tucson International Airport in October.

NEW MEXICO

Albuquerque

The Sid Cutter Pilots Pavilion opened in Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta Park. Named for the founder of the annual Balloon Fiesta, the 12,500 facility is available for events.

The Hotel Chaco is under construction in Old Town Albuquerque, with completion scheduled for later this year. The 118-room luxury hotel will offer a rooftop restaurant and meeting spaces for up to 100 people.

The Hampton Inn & Suites Albuquerque Airport opened with 91 guest rooms, an indoor pool and 1,650 square feet of meeting space.

The Hilton Garden Inn Albuquerque/Journal Center completed a renovation of its lobby and other public spaces.

Santa Fe
The Eldorado Hotel & Spa completed a renovation that included the refurbishment of the 219 guest rooms and the addition of a lobby bar and 7,000-square-foot ballroom.

Taos
Taos Ski Valley opened The Blake at Taos Ski Valley, an 80-room hotel with ski-in, ski-out access to the newly renovated ski area. The hotel includes a restaurant with private dining for up to 24.
