Planner’s Perspective: Jim Wulfekuhle

Jim Wulfekuhle, Vice President Sales and Marketing, International Woodworking Fair, Atlanta

What type of meeting did you hold in Atlanta?

International Woodworking Fair had a citywide B2B tradeshow last year.

Was anyone particularly helpful in executing your event?

The Atlanta CVB and the Georgia World Congress Center were incredible assets for our event.

What did your attendees seem to enjoy the most about Atlanta?

The Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, attractions such as the College Football Hall of Fame, World of Coca-Cola and the Georgia Aquarium, and ‘deals of the day’ discounts on attractions and dining throughout the city.

Do you have any recommendations for groups hosting a meeting in Atlanta?

The Atlanta CVB does one of the best jobs enabling you to promote the destination via telemarketing, video and social media, and, as I already mentioned, also assists with ‘deals of the day’ discounts in the city.

How does Atlanta compare to other cities where you have hosted meetings?

It’s right at the top echelon of all cities. Atlanta is one of the few big cities where you can get many deals in place for a citywide.

Would you recommend Atlanta to other meeting planners?

Yes. Atlanta should always be considered a destination for planners.
