Arizona
Andaz Scottsdale Resort & Spa opened on 23 acres in Paradise Valley, less than two miles north of Old Town Scottsdale. The resort features 201 guest rooms, 10,000 square feet of indoor meeting space and more than 36,000 square feet of outdoor event and function area. At the center of the resort is The Guest House, a gathering space that includes a restaurant and lounge area. Nearby is the pool, outdoor activity center and Palo Verde Spa & Apothecary. The meeting space includes a 3,900-square-foot ballroom, two 2,300-square-foot studios, a boardroom and four additional working studios ranging in size from 760 to 1,500 square feet.

California
Hotel Palomar Los Angeles-Beverly Hills is undergoing a property-wide renovation set to debut in February, and includes the addition of a new dining concept and a remodel to all 264 guest rooms and public spaces. The design is inspired by the Kimpton property’s location with materials such as scaffolding sourced from old sound stages that are repurposed as sculptural elements. Theatrical lighting, black steel, corrugated metal panels and aluminum can also be seen throughout. The property offers 5,000 square feet of meeting space, including a ballroom that has the capacity for up to 225 people.

Kimpton Shorebreak Hotel completed renovations of the fitness center and updates to the hotel and restaurant are underway. Its 157 guest rooms and public areas will be upgraded with new furniture, flooring and decor inspired by the hotel’s coastal Huntington Beach location. Zimzala Restaurant and Bar will close to make way for Pacific Hideway. The new restaurant will feature roll-up garage doors, a hand-carved bar representing ocean waves and a patio lounge with views of the ocean. With the restaurant change, 1,800 square feet of meeting space will be added to the property. The current function space includes a 3,000-square-foot ballroom that can accommodate 300 guests and an outdoor courtyard. The renovations are scheduled to be complete in the spring.

The historic Miramonte Indian Wells Resort is the newest addition to Curio-A Collection by Hilton. Miramonte Indian Wells Resort & Spa, Curio Collection by Hilton is set on 11 acres at the base of the Santa Rosa Mountains and features 215 guest rooms, a full-service spa, three pools, Grove Artisan Kitchen and Vineyard Lounge. There is 35,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 5,800-square-foot ballroom that can accommodate 600 guests and an outdoor lawn space for up to 500 people.

Colorado
The Courtyard Denver Downtown is undergoing a multimillion-dollar renovation that includes a refresh of the hotel’s lobby and meeting spaces. The building was originally designed in 1887 and was home to Joslins Department Store for much of the 1900s. The updated lobby and event spaces will feature a new design and include several pieces of Colorado art curated by Denver art consultants NINE dot ARTS. The 177-room hotel offers 4,600 total square feet of event space and can accommodate up to 250 guests. The hotel will remain open through the renovation, which is expected to be completed by early April.

Hawaii
Hyatt Centric Waikiki Beach opened in the former Waikiki Trade Center. The hotel offers 230 guest rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows. Other amenities include a lounge pool, outdoor seating areas with fire pits as well as indoor and outdoor space available for meetings and events. The Lanai, the hotel’s bar and restaurant, is led by Chef Yoshi Ohata and offers Pacific fusion dishes. Several retailers also joined the property, including a two-level Nordstrom Rack, Starbucks and Jamba Juice.

Mexico
Grand Velas Los Cabos debuted with 304 guest suites, five restaurants, four bars and a 16,370-square-foot convention center. All on-site restaurants and bars are designed to take advantage of the oceanfront views and have indoor and open-air seating, including the resort’s signature restaurant, Cocina de Autor, led by two-star Michelin chef Sidney Schutte. Other dining options include Frida, offering Mexican fine dining; Piaf, which serves gourmet French specialties; and Lucca, featuring traditional Italian cuisine. The convention center features two ballrooms and 20 breakout rooms with the capacity for up to 1,700 attendees. There is also an oceanfront terrace with space for up to 600 people.
