The Los Angeles Tourism & Convention Board (L.A. Tourism) launched the Meet L.A. mobile app during PCMA’s 2017 Convening Leaders conference.
The free app follows the debut of L.A. Tourism’s Virtual Discovery L.A., a virtual reality experience allowing users to get 360-degree views of event spaces.
Planners can now access this virtual travel platform on the go to get an inside look at neighborhoods and specs for venues.
“Knowing that more than two-thirds of people now have a smartphone, we really wanted to heighten the multimedia aspect of the app and make it as comprehensive as possible to ensure maximum engagement,” said Darren K. Green, SVP of Sales for L.A. Tourism. “Whether it’s our immersive 360-degree virtual tours to videos that showcase L.A.’s distinct neighborhoods and hotels, planners can find an assortment of multimedia tools to quickly learn about Los Angeles as a meeting destination from the palm of their hand.”
The app, developed with software company mobiManage, also allows users to easily contact L.A. Tourism sales staff and view a calendar of major citywide events.
“We worked closely with our L.A. Tourism destination sales experts to identify content that reflect a planner’s interests and desires,” Green said. “We’re committed to updating the app’s content weekly to ensure planners are able to find the most up-to-date information.”
