Continuing on the theme of making a difference, March is also the official launch of our new “Making a Difference” Departments feature, which profiles individuals and organizations in the industry that are giving back through charitable efforts. If you know of anyone who extends themselves or their organization to help the underserved, drop us a line so we can give them their due!
And lastly, you may wonder why we have a photo of people “smashing up” a marble serving station on this page. Besides the obvious coolness of photos of people smashing things up with sledgehammers, this little bit of serendipity came from our sister division’s recent Stamats Adult Student Marketing Conference, held at The Waterfront Beach Resort, A Hilton Hotel in Huntington Beach, Calif. Yes, it was staged—we certainly don’t destroy hotels like The Who in their heyday—as the property is undergoing a renovation that will jettison this formidable public-space-chewer. And rest assured—no animals were harmed in the process!
