Hilton’s first triple-brand hotel property will debut at McCormick Place in 2018. The Hilton Garden Inn Chicago McCormick Center, the Hampton Inn by Hilton Chicago McCormick Center, and the Home2 Suites by Hilton Chicago McCormick Center will offer a total of 466 guest rooms and 7,000 square feet of meeting space. Each hotel will have its own lobby and dining areas, but will share a fitness center, indoor pool, business center and six meeting rooms. The property will feature a rooftop dining lounge on the 22nd floor with views of Lake Michigan and downtown Chicago as well as two street-level restaurants and a full Starbucks coffee shop. The McCormick Place Convention Center has 2.6 million square feet of exhibit space.
TownePlace Suites Chicago Schaumburg opened to guests. The property, located 15 minutes from Chicago O’Hare and minutes from the Schaumburg Convention Center, offers 81 suites and 1,100 square feet of meeting space in the Uma Conference Room. The hotel features the brand’s TowneMap, a floor-to-ceiling interactive guide of nearby places to eat, play and explore as well as the 24-hour In a Pinch market and On Us coffee service. In addition to the studio, one- and two-bedroom suites with fully equipped kitchens, there are outdoor grills for guests to use.
Indiana
Graduate Hotels announced its newest location: Bloomington. Graduate Bloomington, opening in 2018, will feature 150 guest rooms and about 8,500 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space. The six-story property is located at Indiana University’s Sample Gates. Other amenities include ground-floor retail space, a fitness center and cafe.
Missouri
Hotel Phillips Kansas City, Curio Collection by Hilton joined Curio–A Collection by Hilton following a $20 million transformation and restoration of the property that originally opened in 1931. The art deco lobby features bronze and nickel metalwork, walnut paneling, marble walls and a black and white ceiling. A member of the National Registry of Historic Places, the 20-story hotel is located in the city’s Power & Light district near the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts, Bartle Hall Convention Center and many restaurants, bars, shops and entertainment venues. The hotel offers more than 7,000 square feet of meeting space that can accommodate up to 250 guests, including the Crystal Ballroom, featuring a French architectural style and 18-foot windows as well as eight meeting rooms, three boardrooms and an open mezzanine that can be used for events. Along with the rebranding, the new Tavernonna Italian Kitchen opened. Also on-site is P.S. Speakeasy, an underground tavern offering hand-crafted cocktails, a late-night menu and jazz performances on weekends.
North Dakota
DoubleTree by Hilton West Fargo debuted with 103 guest rooms. The hotel design pays tribute to the region through art pieces, photographs and decor throughout the property, such as images of the upper Great Plains and wall art inspired by the iconic Fargo Theater sign in guest rooms. The property is near the Fargodome and Sanford Medical Center, and there are complimentary shuttles to and from the airport. The Lobby Restaurant and Lounge has outdoor patio seating with fire pits. The hotel features nearly 6,000 square feet of meeting and banquet facilities with a capacity for 475 guests, including the Grand Ballroom, which can be divided into five smaller rooms.
