Arizona
Firesky Resort & Spa, located in Old Town Scottsdale has been renamed The Scott Resort & Spa. The 204-room property will undergo a $15 million property-wide renovation over the next two years, but will maintain the resort’s Sonoran style. The first phase of the redesign, beginning in May and scheduled for completion in September, will include upgrades to its lobby, lobby bar and restaurant, the two pools and the hotel’s 14,000 square feet of meeting space. The second phase will consist of a revamp to all guest rooms and the addition of four one-bedroom suites.

California
Fairmont Hotels & Resorts will renovate and manage the Century Plaza Hotel. The hotel recently closed for a property-wide transformation and restoration and will reopen as Fairmont Century Plaza, Los Angeles in 2018. The approximately $2.5 billion mixed-use redevelopment project includes 394 guest rooms and 63 residence units within the original tower, along with two new 46-story residential towers that will house 290 residences as well as 100,000 square feet of retail space and expanded parking facilities. The property has 100,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space, including a ballroom, exhibition hall and breakout rooms.

Kimpton La Peer Hotel is set to debut this summer in Los Angeles. The West Hollywood hotel will offer 105 guest rooms, a rooftop event space, pool and more than 8,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor dining and lounge spaces, including a restaurant concept created by Casey Lane, the chef/owner of the Tasting Kitchen in Venice, Calif., and Casa Apicii in New York City. There is a 1,670-square-foot indoor meeting space, a boardroom and studios for smaller groups.

Colorado
Denver Marriott Tech Center completed a property-wide renovation. The hotel now boasts 605 guest rooms, including the addition of 36 studio suites and five new residential suites with full kitchens, living rooms and workspaces. All accommodations have new furniture and feature local Colorado artwork. The property’s 50,000 square feet of meeting space was refreshed, including the 10,200-square-foot Evergreen Ballroom that can accommodate up to 1,000 people. There is also the 12,240-square-foot Rocky Mountain Event Center with the capacity for 1,500 and 28 meeting rooms. The hotel added the brand’s M Club Lounge and renovated and redesigned the fitness center, main entrance and both the indoor and outdoor pools. A new restaurant concept, Pint Brothers Alehouse, is scheduled to open in the spring and will have an indoor beer garden serving comfort food, local craft beers and a cocktail menu that will change seasonally.

Washington
AJ Capital Partners acquired the historic Hotel Deca. In late 2017, the hotel will be converted into a Graduate hotel and reopen in late spring 2018. The 16-story, 158-room, full-service hotel is located in Seattle adjacent to the University of Washington. There is 5,500 square feet of meeting and event space, including a ballroom that can accommodate nearly 300 guests, a boardroom and three additional meeting rooms. The renovation will include all guest rooms, common areas, meeting and event spaces, the fitness center and the hotel lobby. In addition, Graduate Hotels will introduce a lobby bar, a rooftop bar and restaurant with views of downtown Seattle and Mount Rainier, and will offer both indoor and outdoor dining space.
