China
Four Seasons Hotel Tianjin debuted in the city’s central business district, which is just 30 minutes from Beijing via a high-speed train. The hotel offers five food and beverage outlets with a dozen private dining spaces. Italian restaurant Cielo is on the hotel’s ninth floor along with Gusto Bar. An outdoor terrace and an outdoor garden pavilion are scheduled to open on-property. The 259-room hotel features 31,700 square feet of meeting and event space, including two ballrooms, eight function rooms and a VIP Room. The hotel also offers an executive club lounge, fitness center, sky-lit indoor pool and L’Ocean Spa with 11 treatment rooms. www.fourseasons.com  

Spain
Riu Hotels & Resorts partnered with the Baraka business group to take part in the ownership and renovation of the Edificio Espana building, which will reopen as a Riu Plaza hotel. The new hotel will occupy 24 floors of the 27-story building and will have about 650 guest rooms, nearly 19,400 square feet of space for events, including a 16,100-square-foot open hall. It will also offer two restaurants and a rooftop space featuring a pool, Sky Bar and another 9,700 square feet of event space.

Sri Lanka
Movenpick Hotels & Resorts unveiled the 24-floor Movenpick Hotel Colombo in the capital city. The property features 219 guest rooms all with floor-to-ceiling windows offering city and ocean views. On-site restaurants and bars include Brasserie, the city’s first in-hotel classic French restaurant; AYU, an all-day dining venue; Mansion, a bar and lounge; and rooftop Vistas Bar. The hotel offers about 4,700 square feet of meeting space, including the Rigi room that can be divided into five smaller meeting rooms, a boardroom and two larger event spaces. The property is set in the city’s business and commercial district, close to Pola—a well-known local market—as well as several historical sites.

United Kingdom
Four Seasons Hotel London at Ten Trinity Square opened in a landmark building that was the headquarters of the Port of London Authority and once hosted the reception of the United Nations General Assembly. The 100-room hotel is home to restaurant La Dame de Pic, the London debut of three Michelin-starred chef Anne-Sophie Pic as well as The Rotunda bar and lounge. An Asian-fusion restaurant is scheduled to open on-site in May. The property also includes 41 private residences, a private members club and the UN Ballroom, which has been restored and can accommodate up to 200 guests. Merchants Hall, a circular prefunction space, has the capacity for 70 and both restaurants offer private dining space.

The Hyatt Regency London–The Churchill reopened after a multimillion-dollar refurbishment. The transformation included the addition of six new guest rooms, bringing the total to 440. Upgrades also included the renovation of three meeting and events spaces: the Blenheim, Marlborough and Spencer Suites. Overall, the property has 11 meeting spaces with the capacity for up to 350 guests. Original artwork, photographs and letters of the hotel’s namesake, Sir Winston Churchill, can be found throughout the property.
