New Meets Old in Hoi An Vietnam

The historic town of Hoi An, once a busy Southeast Asian trading port through the 19th century, has a new event space located at the Anantara Hoi An Resort.

The resort’s 2,500-square-foot ballroom features wrap-around, colonial-style windows and doors that open onto a balcony overlooking gardens on one side and the Hoi An historic quarter on the other side. The venue is dividable into three separate spaces able to accommodate board meetings, teambuilding activities, formal receptions and banquets for up to 140 guests.

In addition to the new space for meetings and events, the 93-room resort offers teambuilding and group activities that explore the location and culture. For the adventurous, military-style jeeps take groups through the countryside to get an up-close look at Champa kingdom ruins. Guests can also choose to rent vintage Vespa motorcycles or bicycles to venture out to see the nearby traditional village of Cam Nam and ride through the rice paddies to An Bang Beach.

Back on-property, there are cooking classes that explore the country’s culinary culture. Vietnamese language and silk lantern-making classes are also available, as well as spa treatments infused with local wellness traditions.

In the evening, groups can take a sunset cruise, departing right from the resort’s own jetty down the Thu Bon River.
