Cincinnati
The AC by Marriott Cincinnati at the Banks is set to open in June in a mixed-use complex. The 165-room hotel will include a rooftop bar, tapas restaurant, fitness center and meeting space for up to 75 people.
The Lytle Park Hotel, part of the Marriott Autograph Collection, is scheduled to open downtown in 2018. The 106-room hotel, located in a 1909 historic building, will include 10,800 square feet of meeting space, a restaurant and a 5,000-square-foot rooftop terrace.
Cleveland
The 189-room Drury Plaza Hotel Cleveland Downtown opened in the repurposed Board of Education building, an Art Deco landmark with marble columns and Depression-era murals painted by Cora Holden. The hotel’s 3,900 square feet of meeting space includes the original boardroom and such features as oak paneling and hand-painted stenciling and wallpaper.
The 600-room Hilton Cleveland Downtown opened adjacent to the Huntington Convention Center and Global Center for Health Innovation. The 32-story hotel overlooking Lake Erie includes more than 50,000 square feet of meeting space, a fine-dining restaurant and fitness center.
Columbus
The Renaissance Columbus Downtown Hotel completed a renovation of its 376 guest rooms and 32 suites.
Akron
The Courtyard by Marriott Akron Downtown opened with 146 guest rooms, a fitness center, 20-seat movie theater and 2,675 square feet of meeting space with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking Cuyahoga Valley State Park.
Canton
The Holiday Inn Canton (Belden Village) completed a two-year property-wide renovation that included the addition of two new meeting rooms, bringing its total to 12,000 square feet. The hotel also has an expanded lobby and a new restaurant and indoor pool.
Dayton
The Marriott at the University of Dayton completed a $21 million renovation that included all 399 guest rooms and 13,600 square feet of meeting space.
Oberlin
Considered one of the world’s most sustainable hotels, The Hotel at Oberlin opened with 70 guest rooms, 6,500 square feet of meeting space and a restaurant serving locally sourced fare. The Platinum LEED-certified hotel is the first in the nation to incorporate solar, geothermal and radiant heating and cooling and features such elements as recycled woods from a 19th century farmhouse, handcrafted furniture by Amish carpenters and a sculptural installation by Ohio-born artist Maya Lin.
