Aloft Houston Downtown opened in fall 2016, Aloft’s second Houston property. The hotel features 168 rooms, a pool and fitness center.
The 102-year-old Samuel F. Carter Building has been transformed into a 328-room luxury JW Marriott Houston Downtown. The hotel includes a full-service bar, spa, health club, executive lounge and 10,000 square feet of meeting space.
Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites recently debuted under one roof steps from the convention center, with a combined 300 guest rooms and 6,000 square feet of meeting space.
A 325-room Hyatt Regency and a 157-room Hyatt Place recently opened near the Galleria. The project features 15,000 square feet of meeting space and a large-scale fitness center overlooking the pool deck.
The 1,000-room Marriott Marquis Houston recently opened with more than 100,000 square feet of flexible meeting space, including Houston's largest ballroom.
Hotel Alessandra will open this year with 223 guest rooms, 10,000 square feet of ballroom and meeting space, just steps from GRB Convention Center. Plans include an indoor/outdoor event deck and a restaurant and bar and House of Blues.
Hotel ZaZa Houston Memorial City will open this fall with 158 guest rooms and over 22,000 square feet of event and meeting spaces. Amenities will include an outdoor poolside experience with neighboring pool bar, ZaSpa, and a fine dining restaurant and nightlife-oriented lounge.
The Melrose Building, originally constructed in 1952, is being redeveloped as a Le Meridien – Downtown, and will open this fall with 225 guest rooms and 8,000 square feet of meeting space, a rooftop pool, outdoor sundeck, restaurant and bar.
Southwest Airlines spent $150 million in upgrades to William P. Hobby Airport, making it Houston's second international gateway.
