Alexandria

The Hotel Indigo Old Town Alexandria is set to open in May on a riverfront site where a 300-year-old ship was discovered and excavated during development of the property. The 121-room hotel will feature a fitness center and business center.

Two Kimpton properties in Old Town, the 45-room Morrison House and 241-room The Alexandrian, formerly the Hotel Monaco, were both sold and reflagged as Marriott Autograph Collection hotels in late 2016. Both were recently renovated.

Arlington

The Hyatt Place Arlington/Courthouse Plaza opened with 168 guest rooms, fitness center, cocktail lounge and 566 square feet of meeting space. The hotel offers complimentary breakfast.

Fairfax

The Crowne Plaza Dulles Airport Hotel completed a $14 million renovation that included updates to its guest room, lobby and guest corridors.

The National Museum of the United States Army is under construction and expected to be completed in 2019. The museum, which will sit on an 80-acre site at Fort Belvoir, will feature over 30,000 historic artifacts and 15,000 pieces of artwork related to the history of the U.S. Army.

Leesburg

The National Conference Center, a 916-room property with 265,000 square feet of meeting and event space near Dulles International Airport, is undergoing a comprehensive renovation expected to be finished by the end of 2017. The National’s lobby area has already been redesigned, now featuring a “Living Room” area with lounge seating available for small receptions and meetings.

Roslyn

The former Hyatt Arlington was rebranded the Hyatt Centric Arlington, becoming part of Hyatt’s new Centric lifestyle hotel brand. The 318-room downtown property, which underwent a redesign and renovation, features new artwork and furnishings for the Key Bridge Terrace restaurant, 7,300 square feet of meeting space, guest rooms and public spaces. Also new is an open-concept lobby with social spaces and upgraded technology.
