Sioux City’s craft beer scene is positively hopping. Groups are encouraged to toast over a local ale and enjoy a delicious bite to eat when they visit one or more of the following brew masters, some of which host group events.
Fernson Brewing Company’s brewery hosts group events with up to 100 people, and it also opened a taproom on the burgeoning “Brewer’s Row” in downtown Sioux Falls. Its core lineup of beers includes Farmhouse Ale and Lion’s Paw Lager.
Popular beers by Woodgrain Brewing Co. include Cascade Smash Pale Ale and Milk Stout. This local microbrewery features food by Pappy’s the Original, with a menu including pot roast sliders and pizzas, and on Fridays and Saturdays attendees can choose from varying food trucks set up outside.
At Prairie Berry East Bank, which accommodates group events, attendees can choose from locally produced wines on tap, as well as craft beers from the Hill City, S.D.-based Miner Brewing Co. Groups can order flights, including samples of Campfire Cocoa, an oatmeal stout, and Black Hills Cream Ale, along with house-made pizzas, soups and sandwiches from the kitchen.
Hydra Beer Company delivers a heavy metal-influenced experience for visitors and groups who rent the taproom for private events. Favorite brews here include Pale Horse German Ale, Ritual Pale Ale, Unholy Vanilla Sweet Stout and Death Breath V2 Imperial IPA.
And at Monk’s House of Ale Repute, groups will find more than 150 local, regional and national American craft beers and imports that rotate on a regular basis. Monk’s is home to Gandy Dancer Brew Works, which accommodates group events and makes beers including IPAs and saisons.
