New in Norfolk

The Norfolk, Va., skyline has a sparkling new addition: the Hilton Norfolk The Main. The 21-story building stands out with an exterior glass curtain wall and 100-foot-tall ground floor atrium that welcomes guests once inside.

“At Hilton, we are constantly looking to enter destinations that enhance our guests’ travel experiences, and with Hilton Norfolk The Main’s prime location in the city, and amenities and services second to none, guests will immediately feel in the heart of it all,” said Shawn McAteer, vice president, global brand management, Hilton Hotels & Resorts. “[The hotel] is poised to deliver exceptional experiences to all guests, whether they are in town for business, visiting the world’s largest naval hub or looking to savor the flourishing craft beer and food scene.”

The 300-room hotel‘s four dining outlets are designed to introduce guests to the city’s food scene and regional cuisine as well as offer new experiences for locals.

On the fifth floor is Grain, is the city’s first rooftop beer garden, featuring more than 100 regional craft beers on tap. The lounge was designed to blend the indoor and outdoor spaces with large garage-style doors that open to terraced patios with a large fire pit giving it a backyard garden feel. Patrons have views of the Elizabeth River and downtown Norfolk, and can enjoy live entertainment regularly. The space can be utilized for private functions.

Saltine, on the hotel’s ground floor, showcases the ingredients and flavors of the region with fresh seafood as well as the city’s history with exposed brick from the original structure, the historic Decker building. The restaurant features a raw and sushi bar, an open-kitchen displaying lobster tanks and a glassed-in private dining room.

Varia, a trattoria-inspired eatery with nightly piano entertainment and two hidden dining rooms that can be used for private dining experiences, and Fruitive, Virginia’s first Certified Organic restaurant, serving a 100 percent plant-based menu, round out the property’s dining venues.

It’s not just about food and drink at the Hilton Norfolk The Main. The Exchange, the hotel’s convention and meeting space, boasts 55,000 square feet of space for over 2,000 guests. There are 39 meeting rooms, including a collaboration room, a tiered meeting room, two boardrooms, a junior ballroom and the largest hotel ballroom in Virginia, offering 18,500 square feet.
