Stationed for Success

With diverse holdings including at least 10 distinct Las Vegas hotel-casinos offering 4,000-plus rooms, Station Casinos, founded in 1976 with the aim of providing “a different kind of casino,” boosted its portfolio by acquiring Palms Casino Resort for $312.5 million in a deal completed last October.

Renamed Red Rock Resorts following its $531 million IPO in April 2016, the family-run company’s vast hotel selection includes two luxurious off-Strip resorts, the 814-room Red Rock Casino, Resort & Spa and 495-room Green Valley Ranch Resort Casino & Spa.

Coming off $35 million in recent reinvestment, Red Rock Resorts, which turned 10 last year, offers 94,000 square feet of space for groups of up to 1,500, including naturally lit rooms overlooking the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area and the resort’s three-acre backyard pool area. Featuring $20 million in recent renovations, Green Valley Ranch Resort, which turned 15 last December, offers 65,000-plus square feet of customizable space for up to 5,000 attendees.

Also 15 last year, the Palms, just west of the Strip, incorporates three towers, including the 426-room Ivory Tower, along with 60,000 square feet of prime conference space and an additional 20,000 square feet of connected ballroom and breakout space.

Last November, the company completed the multimillion-dollar boutique renovation of all 450-plus guest rooms and suites at Sunset Station Hotel & Casino in Henderson.
