Hilton Quanzhou Riverside opened in southeastern China. The 296-room riverfront hotel is near Quanzhou Jinjiang International Airport and easily accessible from Quanzhou Railway Station. The hotel offers nearly 32,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 15,000-square-foot ballroom that can accommodate up to 1,800 guests.
Italy
La Bagnaia Golf & Spa Resort Siena joined the Curio Collection by Hilton. The property, located less than two miles from the city of Siena, features a wellness spa, 18-hole golf course, 99 guest rooms and La Voliera restaurant. The hotel offers the largest ballroom in the region with views of the golf course and countryside as well as five meeting rooms for groups of up to 450 people.
The Netherlands
Hyatt Regency Amsterdam debuted in the city center, bordering the East district and in the heart of Plantage Amsterdam. There are 211 guest rooms and more than 5,565 square feet of meeting and event facilities. Adjacent to the lobby is Mama Makan, a restaurant and bar that fuses traditional Dutch cafe fare and Indonesian specialties. There is also a 24-hour cafe-style market with beverages, homemade pastries and bakery items. The meeting space features natural light and the 2,055-square-foot ballroom has floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the Singelgracht canal.
Switzerland
The Palace Hotel, one of four hotels at the Burgenstock Resort Lake Lucerne, opened for meetings and special events. When the entire resort is completed, the meetings facility will offer 23,680 square feet of space in 31 venues accommodating 800 attendees. The Palace Hotel will open for other guests in August. The 148-acre resort features a total of 383 guest rooms; a healthy living center; Alpine spa; 12 restaurants, lounges and bars; golf; tennis; and 43 miles of trails on-property.
United Arab Emirates
Viceroy Palm Jumeirah Dubai opened beachfront with 477 guest rooms, including 40 hotel apartments. At the center of the property is a 50-by-50-foot glass cube tower that appears to float in front of the hotel, allowing for natural light and a direct view through to the resort’s pool and ocean. There are eight food and beverage outlets, including Quattro Passi from two-Michelin-starred chef Antonio Mellino; brasserie BLVD on One; and Maiden Shanghai, serving a contemporary, yet authentic, Chinese menu. The nearly 6,500-square-foot Vista Ballroom is on the 14th floor with panoramic views across the Arabian Gulf and can accommodate up to 350 guests. Three fully equipped meeting rooms offer 2,600 square feet of additional meeting space.
Uruguay
Wyndham Hotels unveiled Esplendor Montevideo–A Wyndham Grand Hotel in the city’s Punta Carretas neighborhood. The property was designed by Uruguayan architect Carlos Ott and combines avant-garde design with comfort. The hotel features 241 guest rooms that boast views of the city, ocean or Club de Golf del Uruguay, the nearby golf course. There is a rooftop pool, fitness center, a spa, on-site bicycle rentals and a free daily breakfast buffet at the hotel’s restaurant. Four meeting rooms span nearly 8,400 square feet.
