Minneapolis
Construction began in October on the 165-room, eight-story Elliott hotel, named after the Elliot Park neighborhood where it is located. It will feature Finnegan’s microbrewery, event space and meeting rooms.
The West Elm Hotel is slated to open by early 2019 in downtown Minneapolis. It is among the first crop of hotels the retailer is opening as it looks to expand its brand and find alternative sources of revenue.
The 124-room Marriott Moxy Minneapolis Uptown will open early 2018. It will have a Vinyl Listening Lounge with craft beers, a pet crocodile and a garage door that opens up to 3,000 miles of bike paths.
The 141-room DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Minneapolis–University opened just across the Mississippi River in close proximity of the Minneapolis Convention Center. The hotel has 6,500 square feet of flexible meeting space with impressive views of TCF Bank Stadium and seating for up to 250.
St. Paul
The 149-room Hyatt Place St. Paul/Downtown, in the former Custom House and Post Office building downtown, opened recently. Each room showcases a pair of 13-foot windows with views of downtown St. Paul. Hyatt Place offers an indoor pool, 2,900 square feet of high-tech meeting/function space and the Coffee to Cocktails Bar.
The recently opened 160-room Hampton Inn & Suites St. Paul Downtown is ideal for small to midsize corporate events. The 3,000 square feet of flexible meeting space can hold up to 100 guests.
Bloomington
The $25 million AC Hotel Bloomington Mall of America is the first Marriott to open in Bloomington. The 148-room, five-story AC Marriott hotel has a contemporary, eclectic interior and includes two restaurants, a coffee shop and a fitness center, among other features. It has almost 750 square feet of event space.
