West Upgrades + Openings (July 2017)

California

Andaz San Diego, located in the city’s Gaslamp Quarter, unveiled a renovation. The property now includes a new event space, “The Gallery,” featuring intimate nooks for gatherings, and amenity upgrades to all 159 guest rooms. The new social spaces add to the existing 18,000 square feet of meeting spaces. Original artwork, many from local artists, has been added throughout the hotel.

Kimpton Shorebreak Hotel completed a hotel renovation that includes outdoor spaces, its lobby, all 157 guest rooms and the opening of a new restaurant. The updated rooms and public spaces have a Southern California style, incorporating modern graphics and ocean tones reflecting the local surf culture that are paired with retro-inspired prints and furnishings. The hotel debuted Pacific Hideaway, serving a fusion of flavors from Southern California, Southeast Asia, Latin America and Japan. The restaurant’s signature statement pieces include roll-up garage doors, a large hand-carved bar depicting ocean waves and a patio with views of Huntington Beach Pier and the Pacific Ocean. The property offers 10,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space.

Colorado

The 403-room Embassy Suites by Hilton Denver Downtown­–Convention Center completed a renovation that includes new furniture, lighting, carpet and soft goods in the guest rooms, in addition to a new commissioned two-story art and water feature within the hotel. The hotel’s 27,000 square feet of meeting space, which can host up to 650 people for a meeting or event, now features new carpet and design, along with three new boardrooms. The property is located across the street from the Colorado Convention Center and provides easy access to Denver’s Light Rail System. Additional amenities include a saline-based indoor pool, fitness facility and BusinessLink Business Center.

Hawaii

The Sheraton Princess Kaiulani added 76 renovated rooms to its inventory, for a total of 1,140 guest rooms. These accommodations offer a private balcony and upgraded furnishings, including wood furniture, king or two double Sheraton Signature Sleep Experience beds, convenient USB charging stations and renovated bathrooms. The hotel offers 14,400 square feet of meeting space, including the 7,000-square-foot Ainahau Showroom that can accommodate up to 500 guests.

Washington

Hyatt Regency Lake Washington at Seattle’s Southport is scheduled to open this summer. The new waterfront property will feature 347 guest rooms and 60,000 square feet of meeting space. The function space include two ballrooms and nine meeting spaces that all have windows and views of the lake. Outdoor spaces include terraces overlooking Lake Washington and the Olympic Mountains.

Motif Seattle unveiled a $10 million guest room redesign. The makeover includes all 319 guest rooms as well as enhancements to its corridors. The redesign features artwork all created by local artists with materials local to the area. The downtown Seattle property features Frolik Kitchen + Cocktails on the rooftop and over 22,000 square feet of meeting space.

Mexico

Palace Resorts will expand its Le Blanc Spa Resort brand with the debut of Le Blanc Spa Resort Los Cabos this fall. The beachfront, all-inclusive property will feature a spa, hydrotherapy facility, wellness center, four plunge pools, butler service and over 14,000 square feet of meeting space. The 373-room resort will be comprised of four buildings and the meeting facilities will include the 8,912-square-foot Blanc Convention space for up to 630 attendees, as well as three smaller meeting rooms.
