The Steamboat Grand recently introduced an upscale event tent. The 60x60 venue comes complete with carpet, ceiling fans, chandeliers, removable sides and a framed entry, and is near the Steamboat Grand ballrooms and guest rooms. Construction was to finish by late July, for use during warm-weather months.
Crested Butte Mountain Resort this year introduced the new CB Extreme App. The app has free maps to guide visitors through the 542 acres of Extreme Limits terrain at the resort.
Copper Mountain Resort completed upgrades in fall 2016 to the Copper Conference Center.
New since 2016 is Vail Resort's Epic Discovery, an activity-oriented program designed to promote environmental education and forest stewardship, with a variety of experiential outdoor activities. Among the activities are zip lines, canopy tours, wildlife exploration trails and challenge courses. Breckenridge was scheduled to debut a similar program by press time.
Vail Resorts partnered with CBST Adventures to create a new menu of teambuilding activities for meetings and groups, many of which have a CSR component. Options include a community camping competition at Keystone, a nature exploration challenge at Breckenridge and a high-tech scavenger hunt at Vail.
Renovations were completed at The Pines Lodge, a RockResort in Beaver Creek in December 2016, with technology upgrades and refurbished decor among the improvements.
