Kauai
Koloa Landing Resort at Poipu completed a $100 million expansion that included a 12,000-square-foot meeting facility, 208 villas and three lagoon pools. The property is now part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection.

Hawaii Island
Marriott’s Waikoloa Ocean Club, which offers one-and-two-bedroom suites with kitchenettes, opened on the Kohala Coast. The property is co-located with the Marriott Waikoloa Beach Resort & Spa.

The Mauna Kea Beach Hotel debuted new meeting space that includes a boardroom and 3,450-square-foot ballroom with an adjoining ocean view terrace. 

Lanai
Approvals are being sought to begin a $75 million renovation of the Four Seasons Resort Lanai, The Lodge at Koele, which closed down in 2015 to house construction workers completing a renovation of its sister property, the Four Seasons Resort Lanai. Plans call for reducing the Lodge’s 102 guest rooms to 94 and the addition of new meeting space and deluxe wellness amenities.

Maui
The Wailea Beach Resort, which opened in 1976 as the Maui Inter-Continental, completed a $100 million renovation, which featured a complete redo of the 547 guest rooms and suites and the addition of a resort pool with Hawaii’s longest water slide.

Oahu
The Pacific Beach Hotel in Waikiki is undergoing a $115 million redevelopment and will be renamed the Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach this fall. A renovation of the guest rooms and lobby, which includes a 280,000-gallon oceanarium, was completed this summer, while a second phase featuring a saltwater infinity pool and two new restaurants operated by Iron Chef Masaharu Morimoto is set for completion later this year.

The historic Hawaii Theatre, which opened in Honolulu’s Chinatown district in 1922, is now available for meetings and events. The restored theater, which has won numerous preservation awards, offers a 1,350-seat auditorium, catering kitchen and bar service.
