China

The Hilton Garden Inn Shangri-La opened in Yunnan Province. Located in the city center of Shangri-La, the Tibetan-styled hotel is in close proximity to the Diqing Shangri-La Airport and Shangri-La Coach Station as well as the nearby 1,300-year-old Dekezong ancient town. The hotel features 233 guest rooms and 2,000 square feet of meeting and banquet space. Dining options include The Garden Grille, which offers a noodle bar and international buffet as well as Western, Sichuan, Yunnan, Cantonese and Tibetan cuisine. The hotel also features the 24-hour Pavilion Pantry, which offers grab-and-go items, and a Lobby Lounge.

Costa Rica

Margaritaville Holdings and Driftwood Acquisitions & Development announced the rebranding of the Flamingo Beach Resort & Spa. The resort will join Margaritaville’s portfolio of hotels and resorts. The property is on the northern Pacific Coast and offers 120 guest rooms. The resort offers a full range of activities for eco-tourists and boasts a pool with a swim-up bar, an oceanfront restaurant and lounge, watersport rentals, a spa, a tennis court and a fitness center. Outdoor event facilities include a private venue overlooking the ocean. The resort offers 3,264 square feet of indoor event space, including two banquet rooms. Renovations to incorporate the brand’s elements will begin immediately.

The 181-room Four Seasons Resort Costa Rica at Peninsula Papagayo is undergoing a $35 million renovation that is scheduled to be complete in December. The upgrades include all 181 guest rooms, suites and villas, a new arrival experience, the pool and the addition of cabanas, amenities and programming. New culinary concepts featuring locally sourced organic foods, such as three reimagined restaurants, and an all-new Anejo bar and Library lounge, are also planned. The resort offers 9,600 square feet of function space, including an open-air event pavilion and a 3,000-square-foot ballroom and three breakout rooms.

 

Egypt

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts announced the reopening of the Sheraton Cairo Hotel & Casino. The hotel emerges after an extensive renovation that included public spaces and revitalized dining concepts. The hotel’s 326 renovated guest rooms feature a modern design and the Sheraton Club rooms offer exclusive access to the Sheraton Club Lounge, a private space located on the 26th floor with views of the city. The hotel features a fitness center, pool, wellness center and six restaurants and bars. The hotel boasts more than 15,000 square feet of meeting space, including a ballroom and 13 meeting rooms.

Spain

Leonardo Hotels reopened the Vincci Granada as Leonardo Hotel Granada. The property is near to the main railway station, the Alhambra and the Albayzin Moorish Quarter. In addition to the restaurant’s private space, the hotel has two conference rooms with a capacity for 100 people. The 177-room hotel features five meeting venues totaling 7,500 square feet and a capacity for 650 people.

Sri Lanka

Anantara Kalutara Resort is set to debut its new 6,800-square-foot ballroom at the end of August. The two-story building has views of the Indian Ocean as well as indoor and outdoor prefunction space overlooking the Kalu River. The pillar-free ballroom can accommodate up to 400 guests and be divided into two equal soundproof spaces. It is equipped with a state-of-the-art lighting system as well as full audiovisual, sound and entertainment infrastructure. The 141-room resort offers nearly 8,900 square feet of meeting space, including four meeting rooms.
