Hilton is now making it harder to find excuses for skipping a workout while on the road. The brand debuted its Five Feet to Fitness program, which brings the gym right to the guest room.
Hilton’s in-room wellness concept features fitness equipment and accessory options, such as an indoor bike and a Gym Rax training station.
“Travel can put a lot of stress on the body and making movement attainable makes for a more productive trip,” Ryan Crabbe, senior director, global wellness at Hilton said. “We know from guest feedback that finding time to squeeze in a workout while traveling for business can be hard or guests may prefer to work out in private, rather than around other meeting attendees.”
A main component is the Fitness Kiosk, which is a touch screen display within the Gym Rax system where guests receive equipment tutorials and follow guided routines. In partnership with Aktiv Solutions, Hilton has created more than 200 fitness videos ranging from Cardio to Recovery.
“In 2012, we began piloting in-room fitness concepts with yoga and cardio rooms,” Crabbe said. “We learned that guests loved the convenience factor but were hungry for more options.
This got us thinking about a workout room with more choices as well as more advanced, sleek digital features. The result is that we’ve carefully designed a space with an uncluttered training area featuring 11 different fitness equipment and accessory options and a separate space for rest and relaxation.”
In addition to the equipment, the program offers a meditation chair, blackout shades, Biofreeze to ease muscle tension, and protein and hydration beverages.
The program is currently available at Parc 55 San Francisco–a Hilton Hotel and Hilton McLean Tysons Corner, and is coming soon to markets including Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, Las Vegas, New York and San Diego.
