What was your meeting, and why did you select Kalahari’s property in the Poconos?
This was the 11th annual edition of our five-day Project SEARCH Conference. Founded at Cincinnati Children’s, this trademarked program secures competitive employment for people with disabilities. Kalahari is a host site for Project SEARCH, and we have developed a strong partnership to increase employment opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
What amenities and services did you utilize?
Our 670 attendees utilized all convention center spaces, the Gorilla Grove ropes course, indoor waterpark, new Arena virtual reality game experience, arcade and Escape Room.
Did you encounter any challenges, and how were they handled?
Issues often arise when hosting a conference. However, anything we encountered was minimal, expected and handled by the Kalahari staff with attention, care and quick resolve.
How would you describe your overall Kalahari experience?
I believe it was our most successful conference ever, thanks in large part to the best-in-class services, accommodations and Kalahari staff. Bringing in employees from all three Kalahari properties to work the event left a lasting impression on our attendees and team. From Matthew and Camille’s flawless execution of banquet services, to Peter’s precisely coordinated AV services, the staff were truly a pleasure to work with.
Would you return?
Rotating our conference every year, we consider options around the U.S. Of all our sites from the last decade, Kalahari is the first we would consider booking again. I cannot speak highly enough of this site for a conference location.
