LAS VEGAS
Wynn Las Vegas and Encore began checking bags with handheld metal detectors on Monday, Oct. 2, following the mass shooting in Vegas, according to the Las Vegas Review-Journal and Bloomberg News.
The Las Vegas Review-Journal said that Wynn “reduced the intensity of the checks Tuesday [Oct. 3], possibly indicating it was testing the new strategy.” A line formed outside the Wynn while it was checking bags.
Boosted police presence has also been reported along the Las Vegas strip and resort hotels have begun to consider the possibility of implementing other security measures, such as metal detectors.
