Burlingame

The San Francisco Airport Marriott Waterfront is wrapping up a redesign and renovation of its meeting space, which features bay views and new furnishings, wall coverings and a media wall. The hotel also renovated its M Club Lounge, a communal lobby space offering bar snacks, data ports and large-screen TVs. 

Milpitas

The Sonesta Silicon Valley San Jose opened with 236 guest rooms and 4,400 square feet of meeting space. Amenities at the hotel include an outdoor pool, fire pit, fitness center, full-service restaurant and complimentary shuttle service within a five-mile radius, including San Jose International Airport. 

Virgin Hotels plans to open Virgin Hotels Silicon Valley in The Fields, a residential and office development currently under construction next to the Great Mall. Set to open in 2019, the 200-room property will feature multiple food and beverage outlets as well as meeting and event space. 

San Jose

Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants announced plans for a 173-room hotel to be located at Museum Place, a downtown complex set to open in 2021 that will also include 300 residential units, collaborative office space and the expanded Tech Museum of Innovation. The hotel will feature 8,000 square feet of meeting space, a full-service restaurant, outdoor pool and fitness center. 

The Cambria Hotel & Suites San Jose is set to open in 2018 on Stevens Creek Boulevard with 173 guest rooms, 1,800 square feet of meeting space, indoor pool and a rooftop restaurant and lounge. 

The AC Hotel by Marriott San Jose Downtown debuted in January, the first new hotel to open downtown in more than a decade. The 210-room hotel offers 3,400 square feet of meeting space, a salt-water pool and fitness center. 

The Hotel Clariana opened downtown in a restored 1913 Beaux-Arts building that was originally a YMCA. The 40-room boutique property offers a business center, fitness center and a conference room. 

Santa Clara 

Approvals have been granted for the development of Related Santa Clara, a $6.5 billion development on 240 acres of city-owned land across from Levi’s Stadium. The massive complex is to include up to 1,680 residential units, 5.7 million square feet of offices, 700 hotel rooms, entertainment venues, retail space and a 35-acre city park. The first phase of construction is expected to be completed in 2020.
