What type of meetings do you hold in Wisconsin Dells?
We hold two annual tradeshows in the Dells. These are booking shows for our customers, during which they place product orders. We generate a fair share of the following year’s business at these events so it’s crucial that they go well. People travel from nine Midwest states for these events and everyone enjoys the location tremendously.
Is anyone particularly helpful in executing your events?
I work with the Kalahari Resort and Convention Center for our large show (3,000-plus people) in September, and the smaller event (450-plus people) in February is at Chula Vista Resort. I could not ask for a better staff at either location.
What do your attendees seem to enjoy the most about attending meetings in Wisconsin Dells?
The family-friendly atmosphere and the endless things to do. There is something for all ages to get excited about, from go-karts, waterslides and golf to five-star meals at local restaurants.
How is Wisconsin Dells received by your attendees?
I would be nervous to consider another location because I fear we may lose some of our participants. We frequently hear, “I love coming to your tradeshow because I can bring the whole family!” and “Attending your show is more like a mini vacation than work.”
Would you return/recommend Wisconsin Dells to other meeting planners?
Absolutely! We have hosted our event at Kalahari for over 15 years and keep coming back. As they have grown, so has our event. Kalahari and Chula Vista have perfected the event process and know what meeting planners need.
I would advise planners to plan some fun time into the event’s schedule because if it is all business and no play for attendees you may lose some of their focus. Get creative and incorporate some resort activities into the event.
