Some of the hotels in Daytona and the Space Coast did sustain some damage to their hotels from Hurricane Irma in September, so many of them had to do a bit of a clean up and renovations. Here are some hotels that were in the midst of major renovations.
Daytona Beach
The $25-million renovation at the 740-room Hilton Daytona Beach Oceanfront Resort, right across the street from the Ocean Center convention center, is complete. The hotel has more than 60,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space overlooking the Atlantic Ocean.
The 323-room Plaza Resort & Spa is in the midst of major renovations, which will be completed by November 2018. The Plaza has 40,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor meeting space, including the 13,000-square-foot ballroom.
The 200-room Hard Rock Hotel Daytona Beach is set to open this month. It will have 20,000 square feet of venue space, including a 6,200-square-foot Avalon Ballroom.
At ONE DAYTONA, the area’s premier mixed-use retail, dining and entertainment complex opening in December across from the Daytona International Speedway, a 105-room Fairfield Inn & Suites Daytona Beach Speedway/Airport opened in November with 1,181 square feet of meeting space. The DAYTONA, a 145-room Marriott Autograph Collection hotel called is planned for 2018.
The 133-room Delta Hotel Daytona Beach Oceanfront is set to open later this month.
Space Coast
The 238-room Hilton Melbourne Rialto Place with 20,000 square feet of meeting space completed multimillion-dollar renovations in October of the entire hotel including the lobby, all guest rooms, bathrooms and meeting space.
The 156-room Courtyard Cocoa Beach Cape Canaveral recently renovated guest rooms, the lobby area, bistro and meeting space. The hotel has 4,500 square feet of meeting space. The 155-room Hampton Inn Cocoa Beach shares meeting space with the Courtyard.
