MidAmerica Upgrades + Openings (Jan. 2018)

ILLINOIS

Chicago Marriott Lincolnshire Resort completed a $25 million renovation that transformed nearly every aspect of the property from the introduction of new restaurants—Three Embers and Wright’s Brew & Bistro—to the addition of the brand-new Xhale Spa and a Starbucks. The resort’s guest rooms were also renovated. In addition, Chicago Marriott Lincolnshire added a 5,000-square-foot Lakeside Pavilion to its event lineup, which offers unobscured views of Lake Lincolnshire, Crane’s Landing Golf Course and the surrounding areas. The Lakeside Pavilion can accommodate up to 400 guests for a seated dinner, and its adjoining lakeside patio—with more than 2,500 square feet of open-air event space—is ideal for hosting pre-event cocktail hours. In total, the property offers 40,000 square feet of space.

MINNESOTA

AJ Capital Partners celebrated the opening of Graduate Minneapolis. The 304-room hotel, formerly The Commons Hotel, is located on the East Bank campus of the University of Minnesota. In addition to the hotel’s neighborhood gastropub, The Beacon, Graduate Minneapolis features food cart service in the lobby, and its culinary concepting is led by UCLA-based celebrity pastry chef Richard Ruskell. Inspired by Minneapolis’ Norwegian influence and active lifestyle, Graduate Minneapolis evokes a cozy lake house feel with nods to the town’s adventurous spirit, celebrated athletic programs and creative community. The hotel also offers over 20,000 square feet of event space. It has two large ballrooms, smaller flexible event venues, breakout rooms and boardrooms designed to accommodate all groups.
