Ventana Inn and Spa, the celebrated resort perched over the dramatic Pacific coastline, reopened in October as Ventana Big Sur, the first North American installment of Alila Resorts and Hotels by Two Roads Hospitality. The property went through a multimillion-dollar reimagination and renovation before reopening.
The intimate, 59-room resort introduces guests to distinctive experiences that invite them to discover, create, be inspired and be well. Aside from newly refreshed rooms, suites and villas that were designed like sanctuaries and encourage interaction with the great outdoors, features include the Sur House restaurant, specializing in coastal cuisine using locally sourced, sustainable fish, seafood, meats and produce; The Social House, which invites guest to connect, reflect and play; the Spa Alila, utilizing nature’s local healing elements enhanced by Spa Alila’s Asian roots; two outdoor pools; the Glass House Gallery, showcasing works by renowned local artists; Redwood Canyon Glampsites, offering a rustic luxury twist on camping; and the Ocean Meadow event lawn, part of the property’s 12,000 square feet of unique indoor and outdoor space.
Meanwhile, the resort’s new signature Alila Experience Program provides mind-body-soul experiences that help guests a develop deeper connection to oneself, those around them and the natural world in profound and playful ways such as drum circles and quartz bowl energy sound baths. Also complimentary are daily hour-long guided walks through the serene landscape and yoga, Tai Chi and Pilates classes.
