Planner’s Perspective: Stacy Weber, CMP, Explains Why She Chose to Meet in Scottsdale

Stacy Weber is meeting & event manager with Seattle-based Moss Adams LLP, a public accounting firm.

Briefly state what your job entails.
I am the in-house meeting manager for an accounting firm. I advise on overall meeting strategy and provide site selection, contracting, logistics management and budget management for 130-plus events per year.

What type of meeting did you hold when you were in the Scottsdale area?
The most recent was a leadership meeting at the Royal Palms Resort and Spa, which is located in Phoenix just outside Scottsdale.

Was anyone particularly helpful in executing your event?
Kelli Blubaum with Experience Scottsdale is invaluable. She is a tremendous resource for information on what’s happening in Scottsdale and offers great suggestions for my group to enjoy.

What did your attendees seem to enjoy the most about Scottsdale?
Our favorite things about holding meetings in Scottsdale are the weather, the ease of airlift and the great hotels/resorts that truly understand what is needed for successful meetings.

What group-friendly experiences do you recommend?
Some of my favorites over the years have been Bondurant Racing School [in Chandler], the Arabian stables [Los Cedros USA in Scottsdale] and Topgolf.

How does Scottsdale compare to other cities where you have hosted meetings?
Every location and meeting is unique so it’s a bit of apples to oranges. Overall, we love Scottsdale because it’s typically affordable, easy to get to, there are lots of activities and it’s sunny.
