Opening in early 2018 on Miami’s Ocean Drive, the Celino South Beach will be a 132-room loft-style boutique hotel with Latin design and tropical infusions as well as a glass-bottom rooftop pool.
The 251-room Palms Hotel & Spa completed a multimillion-dollar renovation to the lobby, reception area and meeting rooms. The hotel has nine meeting rooms with more than 8,000 square feet of space.
Fort Lauderdale
The Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort opened in October 2017 with 290 expansive studio and suite accommodations, a 4,000-square-foot ocean view spa and fitness center, ocean-facing pool and plush cabanas. There are 10 flexible function rooms totaling 10,000 square of indoor meeting space. The largest meeting room holds 4,524. There is also a 20,000-square-foot Sky Deck on the 6th floor.
Fort Lauderdale’s Greater Fort Lauderdale/Broward County Convention Center expansion will add 400,000 square feet of contiguous exhibition space to the current exhibit hall.
An 800-room convention center headquarters hotel under the Omni Hotels and Resorts brand is in the works. The proposed 22-story hotel will be prominently positioned on the destination’s Intracoastal Waterway. The new proposed headquarters hotel will add more than 73,000 square feet of meeting space, as well as an 11,000-square-foot spa and fitness center.
The 430-room W Fort Lauderdale completed a $55 million renovation to its guest rooms and suites, lobby, two pools and all the public spaces. A new 4,000-square-foot ballroom will add to the over 26,000 square feet combined from the already 15 indoor and outdoor venues.
The B Ocean Resort, Fort Lauderdale Beach recently completed an extensive renovation including meeting space, guest rooms, Wreck Bar and front desk. The hotel has more than 14,000 square feet of indoor flexible event space plus outdoor pool decks and a private beach totaling more than 24,000 square feet.
The 236-room Renaissance Fort Lauderdale Cruise Port recently completed a total brand transformation with renovations to the hotel lobby, restaurants and its more than more than 11,584 square feet of meeting space.
The 650-room Fort Lauderdale Marriott Harbor Beach Resort & Spa recently completed a renovation of all guest rooms, spa, lobby and meeting space. There are 66,965 square feet of total meeting space.
A 23-story Four Seasons will open in 2018 with 150 hotel rooms and 95 residences, two restaurants, a spa, fitness center, “Beach Butlers” and ballroom and meeting facilities.
A new dual-branded Starwood Hotels & Resorts property is coming to downtown Fort Lauderdale. The 24-story, 323-room hotel will offer a sky lobby, lobby bar, pool deck, secret garden, and fitness room—all on the sixth floor—as well as 12,000 square feet of meeting and ballroom space, plus high-rise rooftop bar. The property is divided into two hotels: The Dalmar Fort Lauderdale, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel, with 209 rooms, and Element Fort Lauderdale Downtown, with 114 rooms. The hotels are expected to open by the end of summer 2018.
