East Upgrades + Openings (March 2018)

Massachusetts

Concord Hospitality Enterprises broke ground on its first property in the Greater Boston area, the dual-branded Homewood Suites and Hampton Inn–Woburn M.A. Upon completion in 2019, the properties will feature a total of 235 guest rooms. The Homewood Suites will include 103 fully equipped suites with kitchens for long-term guests, while the Hampton Inn will have 132 guest rooms. The hotels will share amenities such as an indoor pool, exercise room and 602 square feet of meeting space. The property is a major part of the $55 million Woburn Landing project. The development will feature new restaurants and businesses, all conveniently accessible from the city’s public transportation system.

New York

Courtyard by Marriott Long Island Islip/Courthouse Complex opened with 125 guest rooms. The hotel offers convenient access to Bethpage Ballpark, Robert Moses Beach and Fire Island. The new room design includes an upgraded, more spacious layout with an expanded bathroom. The property features the brand’s Refreshing Business lobby environment with media pods, complimentary Wi-Fi and a variety of seating zones. The four-story hotel features an indoor salt-water pool, fitness center, guest laundry, an outdoor patio with a fire pit and communal table, and 1,232 square feet of meeting space to accommodate functions of up to 40 people.  

The 310-suite Embassy Suites by Hilton New York–Midtown Manhattan opened near Herald Square and Broadway. The 39-story hotel features a glass facade offering views of the city’s skyline. The hotel offers three food and beverage concepts, including outdoor bar and function space SkyLawn. The venue can host events for up to 300 people. The property has an additional 3,560 square feet of meeting space that includes a boardroom, atrium and event spaces for up to 150 people.

 

Hotel Saranac, Curio Collection by Hilton reopened after a multimillion-dollar restoration that blended modern amenities with North Country spirit. The hotel’s restaurant, Campfire Adirondack Grill + Bar, boasts an “Adirondack-to-table” locavore menu based on the region’s natural bounty: game, fish, produce and even maple syrup, along with local craft beers. Hotel Saranac opened in 1927 and is a basecamp for Adirondack exploration. The property features 102 renovated guest rooms, a spa and The Terrace, an outdoor space with a fire pit. There is 6,000 square feet of meeting space that can accommodate up to 200 guests.  

Northern Virginia

Blue Vista Capital Management and The LCP Group acquired the Fairfax Marriott at Fair Oaks. The six-story 316-room property is located outside of Washington, D.C. The hotel contains 15,000 square feet of meeting space, including 13 event rooms and nine breakout rooms. There is also 703 Bar + Kitchen and the amenities, facilities and services of a full-service Marriott hotel. The property is a quick drive from Washington Dulles International airport.

Pennsylvania

Interstate Hotels & Resorts will manage the 349-room Renaissance Philadelphia Airport Hotel. The hotel will immediately undergo a comprehensive renovation. The property is located within minutes of Lincoln Financial Field, Wells Fargo Center, downtown and just one mile from the airport. There is 21,000 square feet of meeting and event space, including 19 meeting rooms and a 6,600-square-foot ballroom.
