Latest + Greatest Greater Palm Springs: 2018 Upgrades & Openings

Kimpton Rowan Palm Springs Hotel opened its doors last November with 153 guest rooms. The hotel features the city’s first rooftop pool, two restaurants, two bars and more than 16,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor function space. The property is an anchor of the downtown Palm Springs revitalization project.

Hotel Paseo at press time was expected to open in March in Palm Desert’s El Paseo shopping district. The 150-room hotel is part of Marriott’s Autograph Collection. Amenities will include a restaurant and bar, AC3, featuring farm-to-table American cuisine. There is also a spa and event space for up to 300 guests. The 3,200-square-foot ballroom opens onto the 2,000-square-foot event lawn.

Miramonte Indian Wells Resort & Spa completed a property-wide renovation last fall, marking the end of a multiyear makeover and rebranding project that included joining the Curio Collection by Hilton in December 2016. The property’s renovation project spanned several phases beginning with the 215 guest rooms and suites and outdoor social spaces. Most recently, the lobby, bar, restaurant, meeting spaces and award-winning Well Spa received an overhaul.

SilverRock Resort broke ground last year on a $420 million project in La Quinta. The property will include a 140-room luxury hotel, a 200-room hotel, a 71,000-square-foot conference center, a resort village with residential units and retail space. The development is expected to be completed in 2019 or 2020.
