SAN ANTONIO
The JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa completed a refresh of its restaurants and lobby spaces. Inspired by the Texas Hill Country and the resort’s scenic and natural surroundings, the new design, created by the design firm Seifert Murphy, reflects and embraces its regional surroundings throughout the new furnishings.
Drawing from the JW brand aesthetic, the property’s redesigned spaces are a modern interpretation of the resort’s indigenous surroundings. The Texas Hill Country is world renowned for its natural beauty and the Blanco River is credited as its wellspring. Located just 40 miles northwest of the resort, the Blanco River serves as the centric inspiration for the casually elegant design. Building on the saturated color palette of the river and the surrounding banks and limestone cliffs, the scheme of the resort’s design is a welcoming sanctuary, aiding the guest in a full immersion of the landscape surrounding the resort. Modern design takes on the rush of water, and the trademark cliffs of the Blanco River present themselves throughout the redesigned areas. Vertical directives juxtaposed with organic movement are a nod to the architectural elements of the river itself.
“I hope guests enjoy the new look and feel of this iconic Hill Country property,” says Arthur Coulombe, general manager of JW Marriott San Antonio Hill Country Resort & Spa. “Whether we are welcoming a business traveler or guests visiting us to refresh and enjoy some time away from home, we look forward to sharing more of the natural warmth and splendor of our magnificent surrounding Hill Country inside our home away from home.”
Each of the hotel’s restaurants, 18 Oaks, Cibolo Moon, High Velocity along with the lobby bar, Crooked Branch, have been refreshed to reflect a current look and feel that embraces the nature of the Texas Hill Country. New carpet in both 18 Oaks and Cibolo Moon and rugs in Crooked Branch and the main lobby area are inspired by the movement of the Blanco River as the rushing of the water and as a serene viewpoint.
The 1,002-key resort boasts 288,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space, including 40 event rooms, event lawn and an 18,000-square-foot pavilion.
