Hello, Meetings Today readers and welcome to Michael Cerbelli’s: The Hot List™, where I will showcase some of my favorite finds I’ve discovered while attending industry events.
The first of my favorite finds is doob, “a photo-realistic 3D printed replica of you,” which will debut with me on stage in January 2019 during the Michael Cerbelli’s: The Hot List™: 2019 presentation at The Special Event Show in San Diego. During the presentation I’ll highlight favorite finds and industry trends.
We celebrate life's biggest and smallest moments, as well as everything in between, including the time we spend collaborating at events. You can make a doob 3D printed replica for yourself or give it as a gift. Whatever the purpose, they make the perfect memento to capture any special moment.
Doob is a full-service, 3D tech company founded in Dusseldorf, Germany, with regional headquarters in New York City and Tokyo. The initial consumer offering, “doob: 3D-printed replicas of you,” has been a success. Now doob is expanding globally and partnering with some of today’s most popular brands.
Doob owns one of the first fully integrated and scalable 3D pipelines, and its 3D tech platform delivers mass-customized products to consumer markets and diverse B2B sectors.
How does doob work? Curious planners and 3D-printing enthusiasts can stop by a doob retail outlet—available in select markets across the U.S.—and step into a 3D scanner called the "doob-licator." The scanner uses an array of cameras to capture 54 images from all angles and the data is used to create a "3D replica of you."
The end product resembles an action figure, even if it's not completely posable.
Besides the meetings and conventions industry, 3D technology has wide application in industries such as architecture, medical and healthcare, fashion, fitness and sports & entertainment.
I have already incorporated this technology into event invitations, making the guest of honor into 72 miniature “International Man of Mysteries,” as well as a CEO gifts, retirement gifts and thank you mementos.
The ideas for using doob 3D replicas in the event environment are endless.
As with all of my favorite finds, doob is 100% #mcapproved!
