Moxy Hotel Opens in Downtown NYC

NEW YORK CITY

Moxy NYC Downtown, the latest hotel from the Marriott International brand along with developer Mark Gordon and Tribeca Associates, opened in the city’s Financial District.

"Moxy NYC Downtown was designed to embrace the "new" Downtown demographic and proves that innovative design with a focus on what the guest truly desires in-room, combined with our outstanding 5,000 square feet of unique communal space where guests can work by day and party all night, can be achieved at all price points," states Mark Gordon, the developer and partner of Moxy NYC Downtown, who is also the Managing Partner of Tribeca Associates. "Tonight's event was the perfect way to celebrate New York's newest landmark hotel."

The new-build, 30-story, 298-key hotel, located just off Broadway and steps away from the World Trade Center, radiates the neighborhood's eclectic vibe and puts travelers in the heart of the emerging Downtown scene. There is also 5,000 square feet of communal space for guests to work and gather.

The new hotel brings a relaxed vibe to the neighborhood with innovative technology, meticulously designed bedrooms, an incredible retro-inspired bar and lounge from Jon Neidich – one of the city's most respected bar and restaurant operators – and a prime location in the heart of NYC's newest 24/7 hub.

The hotel features an artist-in-residence, Sophie Barrott, whose work was showcased on Moxy NYC Downtown's monumental 13-foot x 21-foot state-of-the-art LED Wall which is featured in the dramatic 22-foot atrium of the property. Barrott is one of the chosen artists from the brand's #BlankCanvas global initiative, which calls on multi-media artists from around the world to submit contemporary works that encapsulate Moxy's dynamic brand attitude. Her video work incorporates retro-style filters and gritty scenes of urban streets.
