“Watch us roar in ’94!” proclaimed MGM Hotels with the December 1993 opening of the second MGM Grand.
Featuring a massive indoor Wizard of Oz attraction, MGM founder Kirk Kerkorian’s emerald green vision (the original 1973 MGM Grand became Bally’s) was the world’s largest hotel-casino, with 5,000-plus rooms and 158,000 square feet of convention space.
Having inaugurated Kerkorian’s International Hotel (now the Westgate Las Vegas) in 1969, Barbra Streisand opened the resort’s 16,000-seat Grand Garden arena with back-to-back New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day shows.
In December 2018, the property unveiled the $130 million, 250,000-square-foot expansion of the MGM Grand Conference Center, creating 850,000 square feet of versatile space property-wide. The project was among the finishing touches of three years and 900,000 square feet of meeting space expansions and other enhancements inside MGM Resorts’ properties.
Last December also saw the completion of MGM’s $550 million transformation of the Monte Carlo into the 2,700-room Park MGM. The European-style resort features 77,000 square feet of space. Park MGM's Madison Meeting Center, Las Vegas’ first executive meeting center, and the future-forward Ideation Studio, are informed by behavioral science studies and cutting-edge technology and furniture. Both are the first IACC-certified venues in Las Vegas.

The resort completes MGM’s multiyear development of an integrated visitor “neighborhood” that includes the outdoor Park, T-Mobile Arena and adjacent CityCenter complex.
Serving as Park MGM’s Strip entrance, Eataly Las Vegas is the sixth U.S. outpost of the renowned Italian marketplace. Open 24/7 (not all outlets), the 40,000-square-foot venue includes the Chef’s Table for classes, tastings and private events.
Resort draws include Provencal-style Primrose, Chicago steakhouse Bavette’s and L.A. star chef Roy Choi’s Korean-style Best Friends.

Group spaces at the 292-room NoMad Las Vegas on Park MGM’s top four floors include the fine-dining NoMad Restaurant and Bar, and an outdoor rooftop pool. Attendees can access world-class entertainment at the attached 5,200-seat Park Theater, where Lady Gaga debuted her residency in December 2018. Making her screen debut in 2018’s A Star is Born reboot, Lady Gaga’s twin-residency includes the hits-driven Enigma and more intimate Jazz and Piano.

Other 2019 limited engagements at the Park Theater include Aerosmith and Cher.

The three-year MGM Resorts expansion cycle in Las Vegas included boosting its convention space to 2 million-plus square feet as part of a $100 million resort-wide transformation of Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino, Las Vegas.
Following a $170 million, 200,000-square-foot expansion, ARIA Resort & Casino now offers 500,000 square feet of versatile LEED Gold-certified space.
Opened two months before the MGM Grand in 1993, Luxor Las Vegas features the new 30,000-square-foot multipurpose HyperX Esports Arena.
MGM is also expanding its pioneering Stay Well program, presently covering select rooms and meeting spaces at MGM Grand and Park MGM to the Mirage Las Vegas, which turns 30 this year.
On the tech front, MGM Resorts' app streamlines the guest experience with 24-hour advance check-in, digital room keys, personalized recommendations and reservation management.
