Ames Boston Hotel: Meetings Highlights Plus a Look Inside the Boston Bruins Bobby Orr Suite

Minutes from Faneuil Hall in the heart of the Financial District, the landmark Ames Boston Hotel is among America’s most distinctive structures.

Completed in 1893, this Romanesque-Byzantine sandstone treasure was Boston’s first skyscraper. Constructed from nine-foot thick masonry walls, it remains the tallest pre-steel building in the U.S.

Converted into a hotel in 2009, this 114-room European-style charmer is a Hilton Curio property and part of Benchmark Hospitality’s Gemstone Collection.

Completed in 2017, a $6 million renovation revamped the lobby and created the adjacent Library as the breakfast area and communal daytime workspace.

The tiled mosaic arched ceiling creates a grand sense of arrival, furthered by the marble staircase leading to the second-floor Ames and Oliver & Oakes meeting rooms.

Inspiring views of the Old State House and glass skyscrapers, a working fireplace and advanced A/V technology make the combined 2,000-square-foot contemporary space a premier address for meetings and social events.

All rooms offer dynamic appointments with luxury, including the expansive Apartment Suite.

Ties to history include the Bobby Orr Suite.
