Hyatt Hotels Corporation announced the opening of Hyatt Regency Liberation Square Chongqing in the mega metropolis in western China.
The property is located next to the landmark Liberation Monument, which was built in 1947 to commemorate war victory and cherished as the heart of the "Misty City."
“We are very excited to be opening in such a cherished Chongqing location at Liberation Square and sincerely appreciate the trust and support from our owner, Hui Xian Real Estate Investment Trust, which also owns Grand Hyatt Beijing at the prestigious Beijing Oriental Plaza,” said Stephen Ho, president, Greater China, global operations, Hyatt.
“We look forward to welcoming our guests to connect with the best of this remarkable city, from dining and relaxation to meetings and celebrations, with convenient access to Chongqing Metropolitan Oriental Plaza and the myriad of delights of Jiefangbei Pedestrian Street."
Positioned at the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing rivers and surrounded by water on three sides, the Jiefangbei Central Business District is the city’s main hub for banking, tourism and entertainment and a leading commercial center of Western China.
Guests of Hyatt Regency Liberation Square Chongqing, the second Hyatt Regency hotel in the city, will find themselves on the city’s liveliest doorstep, a neighborhood filled with cultural significance and contemporary buzz.
The hotel is part of Chongqing Metropolitan Oriental Plaza with direct access to a premier shopping mall and a Grade A office tower housing key consulates and multinational corporations. It is also walking distance to Hongya Cave, the Yangtze River Cableway and Jiefangbei metro station.
“Metropolitan Oriental Plaza in Chongqing—just like its sister property Beijing Oriental Plaza in the nation’s capital—is set to transform the prestigious address in the heart of the city,” said H L Kam, Chairman of the owning company, Hui Xian Asset Management Limited.

Hyatt Regency Liberation Square Chongqing features 308 guest rooms from floors 19 to 37, including 30 suites, two executive suites and a presidential suite.

Fashionable All Day Dining Café presents a culinary marketplace of local favorites along with regional Chinese, Asian and Western specialties.
