Cvent Launches Interactive Event Floor Maps and Online Community

Meeting and event technology giant Cvent added 3D interactive floor plans for thousands of venues in its database and launched the Cvent Community online network for planners.

We heard the news at the annual Cvent CONNECT conference in Las Vegas. Cvent said the July 8-11, 2019, conference attracted more than 4,500 attendees.

Cvent Enhances Floor Plans Following Social Tables Acquisition

The addition of interactive floor plans to the Cvent Supplier Network is the result of Cvent’s acquisition of meeting and event technology software company Social Tables in fall 2018.

The photo-realistic 3D diagramming technology allows planners to visualize event space during the venue selection process, informing their decisions on whether a meeting or event can fit in a specific venue and what room-set options would be ideal in various spaces.

“Seventy-seven percent of event planners begin researching for a venue online before ever contacting a venue’s sales team,” said Dan Berger, general manager and vice president of Cvent’s Social Tables, citing 2014 statistics from a Destinations Marketing Association International (now Destinations International) study.

“By offering interactive floor plans within the Cvent Supplier Network and showcasing layouts in 3D, it’s easier than ever for venues to stand out during the very difficult part of the group business sales cycle, all while improving the planning experience,” he added.

Cvent said that AccorHotels is the first hotel brand to offer the interactive floor plan technology, which is available across all of its properties in North America.
