ITC Royal Bengal Opens in India

ITC Ltd. debuted ITC Royal Bengal in the business district of Kolkata. The 30-story, 456-key property features five restaurants, 61,000 square feet of meeting and convention spaces and a 24,000-square-foot Kaya Kalp - The Royal Spa.

“The addition of ITC Royal Bengal to our luxury hotel portfolio further strengthens our presence in Eastern India,” said Nakul Anand, executive director, ITC Ltd. “Bengal is ‘Royal’ in a unique way – it has celebrated the royalty of the intellect through the centuries, where literature, poetry, painting, sculpture, theatre, cinema, science, have not only blossomed, but are inherent to the fabric of Bengal.”

A contemporary Indian spirit underscores the ITC Royal Bengal’s architecture and design philosophy to enable a “sense of destination.” The property incorporates local cuisine, arts and culture along with hi-tech accents on services to enhance the guest experience.

The sprawling property symbolizes the traditions of the region through culinary offerings that include the acclaimed Royal Vega, featuring the luxury vegetarian cuisine of India.

Reminiscent of Kolkata's historical market is the Grand Market Pavilion, a 24/7 restaurant showcasing both Indian and international cuisines, with an exclusive showcase of the seven sisters (the North-Eastern States of India).

ITC Royal Bengal also houses Ottimo – Cucina Italiana, ITC’s signature pan-Italian brand, and Darjeeling Lounge as a warm reminder of the city's tea culture and culture of Adda.

A lobby level jazz bar, The Brass Room rings in the city's fondness for music and good life.

The new property boasts a 16,400-square-foot ballroom, with prefunction areas and an attached outer courtyard that adds 33,000 square feet of venue space.

The lobby spaces and lawns, totaling 61,000 square feet, are ideal for events, offering versatile banquet options for both business meetings and social celebrations.

A distinct feature of the ITC Royal Bengal is the property’s proximity to the ITC Sonar, which together will be the region’s largest hospitality and MICE destination.

Together, the adjacent hotels offer 693 rooms, suites and serviced apartments, 15 signature dining destinations, 22 meeting venues and a sprawling 100,000 square feet of banquet space.

Located near the city’s largest convention and exhibition venues, the new complex can accommodate large scale meetings and events in Kolkata.

Information is based off a press release from ITC Royal Bengal.
