The Sacramento Convention Center is getting an extreme makeover featuring a dynamic center for conventions, meetings and cultural experiences.
An expanded exhibit hall and new ballroom will enhance the usability of the space and add more options for meeting planners. With construction underway, the building is closed from August 2019-October 2020. The building will reopen in Fall 2020.
Once complete, the convention center will include:
- 160,000 square feet of exhibit space
- A new 40,000-square-foot ballroom
- Additional meeting rooms
- Lobby expansion
- Additional kitchen space
- A new outdoor event space
- A new, modern and easily navigable design
- The ability to host two, simultaneous events at the same time
Accommodations
Sacramento offers accommodations that are walkable from the Convention Center. Just steps from the Convention Center, the Hyatt Regency and Sheraton Grand Sacramento offer 1,008 hotel rooms. Another 1,100 hotel rooms can be found within a few blocks,
Major hotel brands including the Hyatt, Sheraton, Marriott, Kimpton, Westin, Hilton, DoubleTree, Embassy and Holiday Inn, along with affordable inns and historic bed & breakfasts account for approximately 16,000 hotel rooms in the Sacramento region.
More than 2,000 hotel rooms are within walking distance of the Sacramento Convention Center and a total of 4,000 hotel rooms are within a three-mile radius.
