Addison, Texas: Where Small-Town Texas Charm Meets Big Group Potential

Addison has experienced significant business-driven growth since the 1980s thanks to concurrent investment in meetings and hotel infrastructure, along with upscale dining, retail and entertainment offerings. This has positioned Addison as an attractive group destination, plus its close proximity to Dallas.

“Literally at the center of the North Texas market, we are easily reached by air, road, and beginning in 2022, rail,” said Alisha Holmberg, tourism coordinator for the Town of Addison. “That convenience and accessibility extends to Addison itself, offering 4.4 square miles of small-town charm in the heart of the Metroplex.”

Its robust business sector and proximity to DFW International and Love Field Airports, attracts corporate and association groups to Addison, along with local, regional and national conferences. Average size group is between 200 and 300 attendees.

Some 23 hotels and 4,000 sleeping rooms encompass virtually every major national hotel brand and include the Dallas/Addison Marriott Quorum by the Galleria and Renaissance Dallas Addison Hotel. Both are newly redesigned; the latter’s 25,520-square-foot, 3,000-capacity ballroom is Addison’s largest event space.

More refreshed spaces are on the horizon, including the full-service Crowne Plaza Dallas Near Galleria-Addison, which is planning a complete renovation in the first quarter of 2020.

“To stay competitive, we offer an incentive program to qualifying groups booking our full-service hotels that includes an offset of expenses,” Holmberg said.

Though it may seem small on a map, Addison packs 180-plus restaurants and many unique venues into its town limits. In this regard, its size is its advantage—planning dine arounds, offsite events and activities are a breeze.

“Dozens of our restaurants, many within walking distance, offer private rooms and buyout options that are ideal for smaller events,” Holmberg said. “Add our unbeatable location, unique venues and exceptional flexibility, and our profile keeps rising in North Texas and beyond.”
