Detroit’s convention center, formerly known as Cobo Center, was officially renamed TCF Center. The center features 723,000 square feet of exhibit space.
The 40,000-square-foot Grand Riverview Ballroom, which includes a stage lift, as well as over 100 meeting and banquet rooms comprise 225,000 square feet meeting space.
Announced by TCF National Bank, a subsidiary of TCF Financial Corporation and the Detroit Regional Convention Facility Authority (DRCFA) this naming rights partnership is a 22-year deal.
Chemical Bank, now a division of TCF Bank following its successful merger of equals on August 1, 2019, was selected and awarded naming rights earlier this year by the DRCFA following a comprehensive, competitive process.
The Center completed on a $279 million upgrade in 2016 that transformed the facility. It includes 8,000-square-foot kitchen with tasting room, updated ballroom and a 30,000-square-foot, three-story glass atrium and 200,000 square feet of flex space including exterior terraces.
The full-service convention and exhibition space includes free Wi-Fi, two giant exterior video screens to promote events and programmable video displays outside every meeting room.
Additional services include an information and business service center, full service executive meeting, conference and banquet rooms, Detroit People Mover station located inside TCF Center.
