Loews Hotels & Co, New York based hospitality company, will open their first hotel in Kansas City on April 2nd, 2020.
The hotel will showcase 800 guest rooms, multiple food and beverage outlets, fitness center, indoor lap pool and 60,000 square feet of meeting and event space, which connects directly to the Kansas City Convention Center via a new connector bridge.
Loews Kansas City Hotel will be the first full-service hotel to open in downtown in more than 30 years.
The hotel is also in walking distance to key area attractions and other destination landmarks such as the Kansas City Power & Light District, Sprint Center, KC Streetcar and the Kauffman Center for the Performing Arts.
The hotel will serve as the destination’s place to convene and be seen for groups and meetings of all shapes and sizes and will also serve as the official HQ hotel for the Kansas City Convention Center.
The 60,000 square feet of flexible indoor and outdoor space including a plush rooftop lawn, features a modern esthetic with practical functionality for planners and attendees.
The 27,000-square-foot City Beautiful Grand Ballroom showcases views of the downtown KC with floor to ceiling windows.
Additional smaller ballrooms, breakout rooms and boardrooms are also available. The footbridge over Wyandotte Street will connect the hotel to the Convention Center Ballroom and Bartle Hall.
Food and beverage will be prominently featured at Loews Kansas City with an emphasis on culinary excellence, hand crafted cocktails and creativity. The concepts of the bars and restaurants celebrate Kansas City’s past and present and also will incorporate local BBQ and distilleries in the area.
The new outlets include: Red Wheat Baking Co, serving coffee, baked goods, sandwiches and other grab& go items; Bar Stilwell, a lobby bar and lounge featuring custom cocktails and local fare; The Stilwell, a restaurant with wraparound balcony that overlooks downtown and the Power & Light District; and Horsefeather Social, the rooftop bar and lounge.
Becoming a true fabric of the community is part of the Loews Hotels DNA, the Kansas City hotel team will bring this to life through the company’s Good Neighbor Program, which launched more than 20 years ago.
During the development of Loews Kansas City, more than 2000 local construction jobs have been created and once opened nearly 500 full time Team Members will proudly work at the hotel.
