Stroll the winding paths of the Desert Botanical Garden, a 140-acre venue that showcases a variety of arid plants, from towering saguaros to delicate blooms. This space also plays host to rotating art installations, cultural festivities and seasonal events. The garden offers a variety of open-air pavilions and scenic courtyards t, all nestled against the red rock buttes of Papago Park, less than 8 miles from the convention center.
Inspired by the red-rock walls and turquoise waters of the Grand Canyon, the Phoenix Convention Center (PCC) is one of the most beautiful and sophisticated buildings of its kind in the United States. Its interconnected campus includes three ballrooms, 99 meeting/breakout rooms, a 2,300-seat performance hall and an Executive Conference Center—900,000-square-feet of meeting and exhibit space in total.
The PCC is also home to Canyon on Third, an outdoor event space in the heart of the downtown core. This flexible 80,000-square-foot space is a blank canvas for groups hosting any kind of event—from a post-convention reception to an open-air food festival—all while social distancing.
Corona Ranch and Rodeo Grounds, a private Mexican and Western rodeo venue, offers ambiance, flavor and entertainment that can only be found in the Southwest. Located less than 8 miles from downtown, this indoor/outdoor, private banquet and event space has been delivering authentic experiences to groups ranging from 30 to 3,000 attendees since 1991. In February 2021, downtown Phoenix welcomed the new AC Hotel by Marriott, a 13-story, 199-room boutique hotel that features 3,400 square feet of meeting space, two media salons and a boardroom. Additionally, the AC Lounge is home to an outdoor patio with water features and fireplaces, and an indoor/outdoor lobby bar overlooking the Arizona Center—a mixed-use space just blocks from the PCC.
The Cambria Hotel Phoenix Downtown, a 127-room property in the Roosevelt Row Arts District, features a 2,000-square-foot rooftop venue that offers drinks and tapas paired with 360-degree views of the city; 900 square feet of indoor meeting space; a collection of large art pieces, including murals that span the height of the building.
In October 2020, the region welcomed its first Dark Sky Zone resort—ADERO Scottsdale, an Autograph Collection Hotel. Located in the uptown area, ARRIVE Phoenix, celebrated phase one of its grand opening Labor Day weekend. The 79-room boutique hotel is home to a variety of distinct event spaces. Lylo Swim Club, a poolside bar and restaurant helmed by Ross Simon, a local cocktail guru behind globally awarded concepts. Additionally, Don Woods’ Say When, the hotel’s 1,100 square-foot penthouse cocktail lounge, will serve up retro-modern cocktails, throwback bar bites and 270-degree city views from the 2,000 square-foot view deck beginning in November 2021, as part of the opening’s second phase.
